ATM Awards £200,000 for Racial and Economic Justice

The Anti-Tribalism Movement (ATM) is excited to announce the recipients of our 2024 ATM Resilience Grants. These grants are designed to empower partner organisations to collaborate with us in advancing racial and economic justice for our primary community. Four selected partner organisations will each receive £50,000 to enhance their capacity, advocacy skills, systems, and expand their networks of influence. This support will enable them to become more effective community advocates, working towards social and economic justice for their communities and the wider society.

Background

In response to the pandemic's adverse effects, we initially launched the ATM Resilience Grants, distributing £532,000 to 34 organisations across England. This initiative was developed in partnership with Comic Relief as part of a larger £3.4 million fund aimed at supporting BAME-led projects across the UK that were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The fund, in collaboration with the National Emergencies Trust, provided crucial support to small grassroots projects focused on mental health, domestic abuse, racial equality, and other vital services. Alongside nine other specialised organisations, ATM helped distribute these grants to strengthen and empower communities most impacted by COVID-19.

These grants played a critical role in sustaining vital community services during unprecedented times. Building on this success, we have secured additional funding from Comic Relief to support four mission-aligned partner organisations over the next two years. This funding will cover core costs, enabling these organisations to continue their invaluable work in advancing racial and economic justice.

The funding will empower them to continue their vital work in addressing systemic inequalities and creating a fairer, more equal society for all.
